Tauhan ni VP Sara puwedeng i-contempt ‘pag tumangging tumestigo 

Hindi umano puwedeng tumanggi ang mga tauhan ni Vice President Sara Duterte — na inilista ng prosecution team bilang kanilang mga witness sa impeachment trial — dahil maaaring i-contempt ang mga ito ng impeachment court.
Ito ang nilinaw ng mga tagapagsalita ng prosecution team na sina Atty. Benjamin Tolosa Jr., at Lanao del Sur Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong kapag tumanggi ang mga ito na tumayo sa witness stand sa sandaling magsimula na ang impeachment trial.
Ayon kay Tolosa, may kapangyarihan ang impeachment court na mag-isyu ng subpoena at maaari nilang icontempt ang sinumang pagbabalewala sa kanilang kautusan.
“Yes, yes, yes. Otherwise, the power to issues subpoena will have no teeth. So yes, the impeachment court has the power to compel people to attend them and to set them in contempt if they continue to refuse to heed such directives,” ani Tolosa.
Base sa Pre-Trial Brief ng Prosecution Team, kabilang sa tauhan ni Duterte na inilitas nilang mga witness na itinuturing din bilang “hostile witness” sina Atty. Zulieka Lopez, Atty. Michael Poa, Col. Raymund Dante Lachica, Lt. Col. Dennis Nolasco, Edward Fajarda, Gina Acosta, Atty. Reynold Munsayac at iba pa.
Ang mga ito ang may mga ginampanang papel umano sa disbursement ng confidential funds ni Duterte sa Office of the Vice President (OVP) at Department of Education (DepEd) kaya isinama sila sa hostile witnesses ng prosecution team.
Sinabi naman ni Adiong na anong mangyayari sa gitna ng paglilitis ay nakahanda aniya ang prosecution team lalo na’t malalakas aniya ang mga ebidensya ng mga ito sa lahat ng article kasama ang ang confidential funds.
“That would also include the possible occurrences or events that might happen during the actual trial. So this is part of the possibility in contingency plan, ready naman po ang House prosecution team to deal with whatever eventualities that might happen in the actual trial,” dagdag pa ng mambabatas.
