Pagmamay-ari sa NAIA Terminal 3 nalipat sa MIAA

Tuluyan nang napasakamay ng Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) ang pagmamay-ari ng 61-ektaryang lupa sa Pasay City na kinatitirikan ng Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 matapos itong bilhin mula sa Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) sa halagang P48 bilyon.
Sa ilalim ng kasunduan, magbabayad muna ang MIAA ng paunang P10 bilyon habang ang natitirang halaga ay huhulugan kada anim na buwan sa loob ng 15 taon.
Dahil dito, magkakaroon na ng ganap na kontrol ang MIAA sa property ng Terminal 3.
“By securing ownership of the Terminal 3 property, MIAA strengthens its stewardship of a strategic government asset and reinforces its ability to support the long-term development of the country’s premier gateway,” ayon kay MIAA General Manager Eric Jose Ines.
“This acquisition provides greater certainty for long-term planning, sound asset management, and the continued advancement of Philippine aviation,” dagdag pa nito.
Ayon naman sa BCDA, bunga ito ng matagal na negosasyon upang matiyak na mapapakinabangan nang husto ng gobyerno at mamamayan ang mahalagang ari-arian.
“This agreement is the result of years of careful work to ensure that the Filipino people receive the greatest possible value from this public asset,” pahayag ni BCDA President at CEO Joshua Bingcang.
“It ensures that the property is placed in the hands of the agency best positioned to maximize its value, while generating revenues that can support public services and infrastructure. This is a practical, forward-looking solution that delivers benefits both today and for future generations,” dagdag nito.
Sinabi ng BCDA na bahagi ng kikitain mula sa bentahan ay ilalaan sa mga infrastructure at development project, habang may bahagi ring mapupunta sa national government at iba pang benepisyaryong ahensya.
