Ginawaran ng Philippine Normal University (PNU) si Manny Pacquiao ng honorary doctorate sa Physical Education and Sports.
Sa isang post, sinabi ng PNU na pormal nitong iginawad kay Pacquiao ang kauna-unahang Doctor of Physical Education and Sports, Honoris Causa, bilang pagkilala sa kanyang mga natatanging tagumpay sa larangan ng sports at mga ambag sa bansa.
“Yet Pacquiao’s contribution to Philippine sports is bigger than his victories. His greatest legacy lies in what his journey has come to represent: that excellence can emerge from humble beginnings, that circumstances need not dictate one’s destiny, and that sports can become a powerful tool for personal transformation, social mobility, and national pride,” pahayag ng PNU.
“This is the kind of excellence that makes Pacquiao a fitting recipient of the Doctor in Physical Education (PE) and Sports, Honoris Causa, from the Philippine Normal University, the country’s National Center for Teacher Education,” dagdag nito.
Ibinahagi naman ng misis ni Pacquiao na si Jinkee ang ilang larawan mula sa seremonya nitong Miyerkoles at ipinahayag ang kanyang pagmamalaki sa dating senador at eight-division world champion.
“Doctor in Physical Education & Sports I’m so incredibly proud of you, Manny. To God be all the glory! Thank you Philippine Normal University,” ani Jinkee.
Bago nito, itinalaga si Pacquiao bilang kalihim at lead convenor ng National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC).
